Will Ferrell Movies

The Curmudgeon admits that he has no idea what to make of people who like Will Ferrell’s movies.  Can anyone help?

Nope. It’s lost on me too! Not funny and not entertaining. There is, however, one film, “Everything Must Go,” that was quite good. But that he had no role in its production – producer, director, or writer – speaks volumes. You might say the same for “Elf.”

LOL That’s exactly how I feel!

The strange thing is that Will Ferrell is a pretty funny guy, an excellent sketch comedy actor, and there’s one thing about him that I admire in comedians: he’ll do anything for a laugh. The problem is that I find his movies so utterly, utterly ridiculous. So it’s not him; it’s the movies he chooses to make. Maybe he just has lousy taste.

I liked Elf and I also liked him in Melinda and Melinda. Otherwise, nothing gas interested me enough to go see it. But I find him hilarious in sketches and I think he’s talented. He has a small part in Wedding Crashers playing an insensitive buffoon and it is hard to think of it without laughing.

I made that very comment in a response to another commenter: I think he’s a funny guy and a terrific comedy sketch actor – maybe one of the very best. It’s just his taste in the movies he gets involved with that bothers me.

Has. Not gas. Damned autocorrect. 😉

I promise I wasn’t. The scatalogical humor thing wears on me. I prefer denial. 😉

Misspellings too. I’d better take a nap. Oy.

Would it be too much for The Curmudgeon to suggest that he doesn’t give a s–t what people think about scatological humor?

  • Peaches Shimmerdeep  On November 30, 2013 at 9:55 pm

What “people” think or what I think? Maybe that’s the same thing. Sorry. Just engaging in banter. Truthful banter, but banter nonetheless. If he really doesn’t care, he should be able to write the word “shit” right out, rather than in code.

It was a play on the concept of scatological humor, silly. As you know, The Curmudgeon likes that crap.

    Yeah, I got that. Sheesh.
