Is your tongue planted firmly in cheek?

Let us say…halfway. First of all, I’m Jewish, and we don’t believe there’s a hell. More important, I think people should be able to spend holidays with their families; I’ve written about this in a short story about Thanksgiving that I’ve posted several times.

I understand that there are people who would rather work and get paid and that some people don’t get paid holidays off, but I suspect there are few workplaces that can be sufficiently staffed to be open on major holidays with the presence solely of volunteers, which means some people are being forced to work against their will, and when it comes to retail establishments and restaurants and convenience stores and places like that (as opposed to hospitals and public safety functions), the sole motivation seems to be greed.
